Socrates at night – spiral staircase and Osho portrait

Socrates

A Space to Pause, Connect & Simply Be.

Surrounded by the beauty of the Himalayas, Socrates is the newest space at Osho Nisarga, a place to relax, connect and enjoy the stillness of nature. A little more space to breathe, a little more time to just be.

Socrates is the epitome of grandeur and minimalism. It blends seamlessly into its natural surroundings, and its design rests on four elements: wood, stone, water and lush greenery. Every detail reflects the same conscious aesthetics found throughout the ashram.

The way to the meditation hall begins along a serene corridor where Osho’s robe and charan rest in a glass showcase, held in a quiet play of light and shadow. Outside, a natural rock fountain fed by the neighbouring river is a design marvel. Every evening, water rises from the centre of a massive boulder, circles Socrates and flows gently back into the river.

Inside, each room is crafted with a Zen sensibility that honours Osho’s refined taste. The vision behind it was simple: every room should be worthy of Osho, were he to visit today.

Every stone was hand-carved by local artisans and masons. The crown jewel is the serene lounge, with panoramic views of the green fields and the surrounding mountains.
